My self portrait is both a figurative and literal reflection of who I am based on pictures of me and pictures I have taken on various excursions and vacations. The pictures of this collage were not placed in a location with any specific intentions.
- I chose the picture of the drawbridge on the Sirmione Castle in Lake Garda, Italy to represent taking risks in my life.
- I am who I am largely because of my friends. I know they are and will always be there for me whenever I need them.
- The picture of me standing at the base of Devil’s Tower in Wyoming illustrates that although I am small in comparison to the rest of the world, I can still make a difference.
- Education is extremely important in my life, and I dedicate a great amount of my time, focus, and effort into receiving the best education I can. Thus, I included the image of receiving my high school diploma.
- Many people describe me as a perfectionist in everything I do. The perfect crystal blue waters of Crater Lake in Oregon represents this trait.
- I am an adventurous person; I like to try new things and live life to the fullest. This is illustrated by a snapshot taken when I went skydiving this past summer.
- Running is my passion and favorite activity to partake in.
- My family is the foundation of who I am. Without my family, I wouldn’t be where I am today in my life.
- Although it is important to be serious in many situations, I still am silly and like to enjoy myself. On a cross country road trip with my best friend this past summer, we found Nemo!
- From an early age my parents taught me to treat others as I would like to be treated, and thus I pride myself in being a caring person to others, as illustrated by the monkey caring for his friend.
- Finally, I am an optimistic person, there is always light shining ahead even in what seem to be dark times.
